Not So Many Fish in the Sea ...
November 8, 2006
More bad news on the environmental front. According to an article in The New York Times, the oceans will be pretty much depleted of food fish by 2048. We all knew that over-fishing was a problem, but who knew it was that big?

This is really sad news. Although I now live in Austin, I'm from around the New Orleans area and people are fanatical about crawfish, shrimp, oysters, and fish. Interesting to see how this will be affected.

Sorry - I'm not buying it. Faith Popcorn wrote about how "in 2010 all landfills will be exhausted and we won't have anywhere to put our trash"... she wrote this in 1991 when all kinds of environmental disasters were forecast. Umm... look around Michael and everyone - have any of these silly environmental doomsday scenarios come true? Yeah - the NY Times has been reporting all kinds of things like this for years... make your own assessments by charting how much these people predict - and what actually comes true, environmentally. You'll find they have about the same success-rate as Jean Dixon and a host of other "Psychics" who predict stuff for the Enquirer.

I also heard that scientists are becoming increasingly concerned about the level of plastic being dumped into the oceans. Ok, some people may place dates as to doomsday scenarios, but it doesn't change the issue or make it any less dire. That's just a distraction.
